In Halloween, Michael Myers escaped from Smith's Grove Sanitarium, and returned to his home town of Haddonfield. Michael stole a mask and knife, and he started stalking Laurie Strode. Michael killed off Laurie's friends one at a time, and when he finally reached Laurie, he was stopped by six bullets fired by Dr. Samuel Loomis.
